MDF products are becoming more and more closely related to people's daily life. Common plate testing items

01. Formaldehyde release

When it comes to formaldehyde, I believe everyone is familiar with it, and even talk about it with shame. Formaldehyde is a chemical gas that can be harmful to the human body if it reaches a certain concentration in the air. If you live in an environment with excessive formaldehyde concentration for a long time, it will be harmful to your physical and mental health.
The adhesive used in ordinary artificial boards contains formaldehyde, but if the amount of formaldehyde released is controlled within a certain range, it will not threaten human health. 

02. Water absorption thickness expansion rate

The water absorption thickness expansion rate is a very important indicator in the actual use of density board products. It reflects the water resistance and dimensional stability of the product. The higher the value, the worse the performance.
Although the density board is rarely directly immersed in water during actual use, measuring this performance can roughly judge the dimensional stability of the density board as the surrounding environmental humidity changes during use. If the density board with poor water resistance is not tightly sealed around the edges in a humid environment, it will expand significantly, causing changes in size and strength, which will affect the use of the board.

03. Bonding strength

There are two types of bonding strength indicators for density boards, namely internal bonding strength and surface bonding strength.

Internal bonding strength is one of the main indicators to measure the physical and chemical properties of density boards, which can reflect the quality of the bonding between fibers within the board. The higher the value, the better the board's ability to withstand temperature changes, the higher the quality of the glue, and the less likely it is to suffer from problems such as delamination and cracking.

Surface bonding strength reflects the processing performance of density board products. If this performance is not up to standard, the board will be prone to structural loosening, delamination, and decorative surface detachment during use. If the surface of the density board is rough and has poor uniformity, its surface bonding strength will become weaker.

04. Static bending intensity

The static bending strength is the ratio of the bending moment and the bending section modulus of the plate under the maximum load. When the density board is stressed, it will cause a certain bending. This situation is called "static bending", and the "static bending strength" is the pressure strength that the artificial board can withstand when it is bent to break under stress.

05. Flame retardant and fire protection level

Flame-retardant density board is a common functional artificial board in public places because flame retardants are added during the production process, which can suppress open flames, reduce heat, effectively control fire intensity, and reduce smoke poisoning.

Qualified flame-retardant density boards can delay the spread of fire, but inferior flame-retardant density boards produced by unscrupulous businesses are a major hidden danger to the safety of people's lives and property.
